As part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Essential Public Health Series, we’re excited to offer qualified instructors with Reading Public Health Research, a free resource created by Dr. Richard Riegelman that is ideal for undergraduate courses in introductory public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, research methods and more.
What's included:
Reading Public Health Research (PDF)
A 28-page guide featuring a step-by-step, questions-to-ask approach to reading public health research articles and abstracts. It illustrates the approach using multiple simulated research articles and provides knowledge testing questions with fillable PDF answer boxes so students can easily respond. Links to recent abstracts from high-quality research journals provide practice in reading the research.
Answer Key with Explanations
A separate PDF offers an answer key with explanations for 40 questions included in the guide. This allows for versatile use of Reading Public Health Research, including as a stand-alone module with the answer key, as well as for assignments, examinations, and in-class exercises.
Instructor’s Manual provides an outline of learning objectives along with suggested classroom use and guidelines for developing additional exercises.
Note: Reading Public Health Research and its accompanying Answer Key and Instructor’s Manual are provided as a secure, complimentary supplement to instructors, upon request. (Qualified instructors only.)
